A New Week

Weaving Class ranks as most favorite hours of "me-time" of the week. I wove nearly eighteen inches tonight on my piece. I loved the rhythm, the flow, the color, the feel. All the green weft you see is new.

Practicing various weaves from a textbook. Remember those ?~! Textbooks I mean.

Selvedge not my strongest suit yet but practicing will whip that edge into submission !~!

Another classmate is just a few steps behind my state of progress
and soon her shuttle will be flying back and forth
making delightful patterns on her white silky-feeling warp threads.

I said good-night to my project until later when I can get back for Open Studio.

Stacey and our third class member prepare for the next stage of her beautiful creation.

  1. This is so cool. I love the variation in textures. 18 inches sounds like a lot to finish in one session. You must keep that loom humming.

I love all the different "stitches" in your piece. I can't wait to see it all finished. xo

  3. Hey, you ever go to a weaving conference and take a workshop from Bobbie Irwin? She's my sister.

  4. The green you're using is gorgeous and I love seeing the pattern developing. How wonderful to get together and provide support to each other. Is that a special type of "yarn" you use for weaving?
